What documents are required to open a business deposit account?

Business Ownership Type  Required Documents to Open an Account
Sole Proprietor
  • If applicable, a Certificate of Assumed Name
  • May or may not have a business Tax Identification Number
  • Personal identification for all principal persons handling account.
Partnership
  • Partnership agreement (If there is no agreement, provide a written statement to that effect with all partners' signatures).
  • Limited Partnerships must provide a filed copy of the Limited Partnership Agreement, filed in the state that is home to its princple business location.
  • If applicable, Certificate of Assumed Name
  • Limited  Partnerships will be designated with a LP in their legal title, Limited Liability Partherships, with an LLP, and Professional Limited Liability Partherships with PLLP.
  • Tax Identification Number for partnership
  • Personal identification for all principal persons handling the account.
Limited Liability Company
  • Articles of Organization
  • Operating Agreement
  • If applicable, a Certificate of Assumed Name
  • Tax Identification Number for business entity
  • Limited Liability Companies will be designated with LLC in their legal title.
  • Personal identification for all principal persons handling the account.
Corporation
  •  Articles of Incorporation or a Certificate of Good Standing
  • Corporate Resolution
  • If applicable, Certificate of Assumed Name
  • Tax Identification Number for business entity
  • Personal identification for all principal persons handling the account.
Incorporated or Unincorporated Associations or Organizations or Non-Profits
  •  Resolution of Authority for organization
  • Tax Identification Number for organization
  • Personal identification for all principal persons handling the account.

How do I add an additional signer/remove a signer on an existing business account?
To add or remove a signer, you will need to update your current signature card and the resolution of authority for your business.  To find out what is required in your particular case, contact customer service.

How do I change my name on my business checking or savings account?
This requires an update to the current signature card and resolution of authority for your business.  To find out what is required for your particular case, contact customer service.
