Beacon Bank kicks off Holiday Giving Tree program in R.I.

Six-week effort collects gifts for underprivileged children

PROVIDENCE, Nov. 2, 2026 — One of Rhode Island’s longest-running holiday programs supporting underprivileged children is back starting today to help bring extra cheer to families in need this season. Members of the community are invited to visit any R.I. Beacon Bank branch, as well as in nearby Pawcatuck, Connecticut, to participate in the bank’s Holiday Giving Tree program, now in its 29th year.

Last year, more than 7,000 gifts were donated and distributed to children with the help of the bank’s nonprofit partners.

“Giving back is an important part of who we are at Beacon Bank and the Holiday Giving Tree is a meaningful tradition that puts that commitment into action,” said Will Tsonos, president of Beacon Bank’s Rhode Island region. “Each year, we’re inspired by the generosity of our clients, colleagues and neighbors who come together to help make the season brighter for those who need it most.”

Through mid-December, participating Beacon Bank branches will feature a Holiday Giving Tree in their lobbies. Each tree is decorated with ornaments that include the name, age and holiday wish of a child served by the branch’s nonprofit partner. Clients and community members are invited to select an ornament and purchase a gift for the child. Unwrapped gifts are then returned to the branch with the original ornament attached and placed beneath the tree.

Nonprofit partners of this year’s Holiday Giving Tree program and the branch collecting on their behalf are:
