In partnership with South Eastern Economic Development Corporation
PROVIDENCE, Sept. 3, 2026 — Beacon Bank, in partnership with the South Eastern Economic Development Corporation (SEED), will host a free virtual workshop Sept. 22 for entrepreneurs located in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
The live Zoom workshop, “Business Fundamentals and Financing Basics,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will cover what lenders look for, an overview of a business plan, loan application packages and the importance of financial statements. Participants can register online at SEEDCorp.com.
“The banking process can feel overwhelming for many entrepreneurs, especially those applying for business financing for the first time,” said Manny Barrows, director of business banking for Beacon Bank in Rhode Island.
“Our goal is to help small business owners better understand how to prepare financially and what steps they can take to position their business for success,” Barrows said. “Through workshops like this, we’re helping business owners navigate the banking system with greater confidence and clarity.”
If you run a business, are starting a business or thinking about starting one, act today and reserve your spot. Workshop participants will gain valuable knowledge from Senior Business Bankers David Caruso and Edward Langellier from Beacon Bank, as well as Angela Laperriere, vice president, business assistance manager & lending officer at SEED.
“We are excited to partner with Beacon Bank to offer this free virtual workshop on business fundamentals, financing basics and what local assistance is available to the small business community,” Laperriere said. “These workshops help entrepreneurs understand how to best prepare for financing and plan for the future of their business to ensure success and stability.”
