Beacon Bank employees help provide free and low-cost insulated window inserts for Vermont households in-need

MANCHESTER, Vermont, Nov. 06, 2026 — Beacon Bank colleagues recently volunteered at a WindowDressers Community Build here, helping assemble free and low-cost insulated window inserts for those who cannot afford them.

Through the community-driven initiative, volunteers built custom interior-mounted storm windows designed to keep homes warmer during the winter while reducing carbon emissions. WindowDressers combines volunteer labor with community partnerships to make the inserts available at no cost for income-qualified residents and at an affordable price for other households.

“Community is at the heart of what WindowDressers does, and that makes this partnership especially meaningful,” said Michele Hunter, Beacon Bank’s regional leader in Vermont. “It's rewarding to know our volunteer efforts will help neighbors stay warmer, save on energy costs and feel more comfortable in their homes this winter.”

Beacon Bank invests in the success and vibrancy of its local communities by supporting programs and organizations that focus on one of three areas: neighborhood revitalization and preservation, education and critical services. In addition to volunteerism, the bank’s foundation invested more than $460,000 in its communities through charitable giving to over 150 nonprofit organizations in Vermont, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts from July to September.
